About our association

The Greater Charleston Association of Private Schools consists of 16 member schools that are independent, private schools from across the greater Charleston area including the downtown Charleston peninsula, North Charleston, West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, James Island and Johns Island.

Our members offer distinct school communities and academic programs to meet the unique needs of a variety of learners. Our goal is to illuminate the value of our collective educational community and promote the value of private school education in order for families to decide on the best fit for their children. Our members work together to offer Charleston-area families coordinated admission timelines and consistent processes to help guide families as they explore the quality of private school educational options available in the area.

Affording Private School Tuition

As member schools, we actively seek to admit talented and motivated students, regardless of their family’s ability to pay full tuition. We believe our comprehensive financial aid programs are fundamental in making this goal a reality. We also believe that socio-economic diversity enriches the educational opportunities for all our families.

Financial aid decisions are made independently from admission decisions and in no way affect a candidate’s chances for admission. All financial information submitted will remain confidential. The financial aid program for our private school members is open to students of any race, gender, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of admissions, scholarship, educational and athletic policies.
